It has been reported that a fire fighting vessel has been boarded whilst at anchor in Luanda outer anchorage, Angola. A duty crew member on patrol heard a noise coming from the starboard side store near the winch area and went to investigate. Upon arrival, the crew member discovered two intruders inside the store, one of whom was armed with a machete. When the intruders realised they had been discovered, the armed individual raised the weapon towards the crew member and threatened him. The crew member retreated to the bridge and raised the alarm. The bridge team observed the intruders escaping in a small boat, which remained positioned astern of the vessel. The Master informed Luanda port control radio and the authorities were notified. At 02:20 local time, marine police arrived on scene, investigated the incident, and patrolled the surrounding area. All crew are reported safe and no items have been reported stolen.
