USER: GPS position was erratic at first, moving maybe 1/4 mile increments then GPS jumped to a position 200miles a way and just stayed there. GPS came and went for 11hrs while we transited up the Gulf of Aqaba. Towards the northern half of the Gulf the GPS stayed continuously on a position about 150 to 200 miles away and never came back. Upon reaching the dock in Aqaba the pilot reports local GPS had been out for months. NAVCEN: The GPS Operations Center reviewed the GPS Constellation and Control Segment, there are no known anomalies that might affect GPS signal integrity at the time and vicinity of the reported problem. Space weather was reviewed and found unlikely to have impacted GPS performance. There were no authorized GPS tests in the area. No correlating reports from inter-agency partners. No additional information. |
