It has been reported by the UKMTO that a vessel has been attacked approximately 70nm Southwest of Hodeidah, Yemen (exact position not specified). The authorities are currently investigating. UPDATE 1: The Master has informed the UKMTO that the vessel was hit by a projectile and has sustained minor damage, with no casualties or fires being reported. The crew are reported safe and the vessel is proceeding to its next port of call. Clearwater have been able to confirm that the vessel involved is a Liberian-flagged tanker and it is reported that the projectile struck in the bridge area. UPDATE 2: The Master has reported to the UKMTO that two more projectiles have exploded in close proximity to the vessel. The crew are reported safe. UPDATE 3: The UKMTO have been informed by the Master that a further projectile has exploded in close proximity of the vessel at 08:03 UTC. Clearwater have received additional information that this further attempt occurred in position 14°28N 041°50E. UPDATE 4: Further information has been received stating that the tanker 's GPS, AIS and navigation systems went down at the time of the initial attack and that during the second attack, a helicopter was spotted in the vicinity ten minutes prior to the explosions.
