It has been reported by the UKMTO that a vessel has been attacked approximately 45nm South of Al Mukha, Yemen (exact position not specified). The Master reported that an RPG exploded in close proximity to the vessel; fired from two small craft which were white and black in colour. Each small craft had four persons on board, the perpetrators were reported to be wearing yellow raincoats. The vessel and crew are reported to be safe and the vessel is proceeding to its next port of call. Clearwater have also received further information confirming that that the vessel involved is a Liberian flagged oil tanker. UPDATE 1: The Master has informed the UKMTO that at 2245 UTC, the vessel was subjected to a further attack. A missile exploded in close proximity to the tanker. No damage has been reported, the vessel and crew are safe and the vessel is continuing to proceed to its next port of call. UPDATE 2: The UKMTO have received further information from the Master informing of two more attacks. At 0340 UTC the tanker was approached by an Unmanned Surface Vessel. The armed security team successfully engaged the USV, causing it to explode in the distance. Following this, at 0557 UTC a missile impacted the water in close proximity of the vessel. The Master has reported that the vessel and crew are safe, and they are proceeding to the next port of call. UPDATE 3: It has been reported by JMIC and UKMTO that the first attack occurred 45nm South of Al Mukha, Yemen. Further, the second attack involving a missile splashed 50m astern of the vessel, 60nm Northwest of Al Mukha, causing minor damage to the lighting on the bridge. The third attack involving the Unmanned Surface Vessel that was destroyed was approximately 1nm from the vessel, located 60nm Northwest-West of Al Hudaydah, Yemen. Additionally, it is reported that the last attack involving a missile which splashed, occurred 80nm Northwest of Al Hudaydah.
