Two vessels have heard via VHF that a Panama-flagged LPG tanker anchored at Owendo anchorage, Gabon, has been boarded by three perpetrators. The crew have mustered in the citadel. Local authorities are investigating. Clearwater will continue to investigate and will re-categorise this alert on confirmation of more information. UPDATE: It has been reported that the perpetrators were armed with long firearms and knives. A speedboat was also seen alongside the ship. The alarm was raised which resulted in the perpetrators escaping in the speed boat empty handed. Local authorities have since boarded and confirmed the vessel was clear which allowed the crew to leave the citadel. |
