| It has been reported that an attempted robbery occurred on a chemical tanker whilst underway in the Singapore Strait. A dimly lit boat was spotted near the port bow and at approximately 1.5nm from the tanker, the boat began to flash its lights and increased speed to try to come alongside. The tanker made evasive manoeuvres and notified the Vessel Traffic Information Service. A patrol boat was tasked to assist and upon arrival, the boat aborted its approach and departed. | |||||
