It has been reported that there has been a suspicious approach on a Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier 355NM West of Mogadishu, Somalia. The vessel was approached by one brown hulled dhow which launched one skiff. The skiff approached the bulk carrier on its starboard side and came within 400m. The armed security team onboard the vessel fired nine warning shots, which resulted in the skiff and mothership aborting the approach, No injuries to the crew or damage to the vessel was reported. The bulk carrier is continuing onto its next port of call.
