| It has been reported that a Panama-flagged general cargo vessel has been approached whilst underway approximately 222nm East of Eyl, Somalia. Three dhows began to approach the cargo vessel and continued to follow for a period of up to five hours. Two dhows were marked Al Masood 1 and Al Masood 2 respectively, while the third dhow was not marked. The Master of the cargo vessel was requested to reduce speed via VHF, however he increased the vessel's speed and activated a distress signal. The cargo vessel has been able to continue at the increased speed and has distanced itself from the suspicious dhows. | |||||
