| The IMB have received a report that a robbery occurred on a Palau flagged tanker whilst underway approximately 363nm South-southwest of Nova Sintra, Cape Verde. Ten perpetrators armed with AK-47 rifles boarded the tanker, entered the bridge, damaged all of the communication equipment and locked all crew members in a room. After two hours the crew members managed to release themselves and discovered the perpetrators had escaped after stealing cash and items of ship's property. The crew were able to repair some of the communication equipment and sailed to the next port. No injuries to the crew were reported, the incident was reported to the Cape Verde authorities. | |||||
