| It has been reported that a cargo vessel was approached and an attempt made to board, whilst underway approximately 104nm North-northeast of Socotra. The Master has reported the incident is now over and the vessel and crew are safe. UPDATE: The UKMTO have confirmed that one small craft approached from astern and came to within 0.3nm of the Liberian-flagged bulk carrier. There were seven persons onboard and a ladder was sighted. The small craft followed the bulk carrier for around 20 minutes, at this time the armed security team onboard fired a warning shot which resulted in the approach being aborted and the small craft leaving the area. | |||||
