Open source reports state that an anti-ship ballistic missile was observed and destroyed by the U.S.S. Mason after being launched into the Gulf of Aden (exact position not specified). It is reported that the missile was likely targeting a United States-flagged oil tanker heading for Djibouti. No damage was sustained to the oil tanker or the USS Mason and no injuries were reported.
