Open-source reports state that the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp seized two oil tankers South of Abu Musa Island in the Persian Gulf (exact time and location not specified). The Iranian media reports state that the tankers were involved in smuggling fuel, and the seizure of the tankers by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp was as a result of a three day surveillance operation. One tanker with thirteen non-Iranian crew was transporting 2.28 million litres of oil, the second tanker with a crew of twenty one non-Iranians, was loaded with 2.3 million litres of oil. The nationalities of the crew members have not been reported. |
