It has been reported that an attack occurred on a Tuvalu-flagged tanker approximately 46nm Southwest of Malabo (exact time and position not specified). Initial reports state that the pirates were able to board the tanker and kidnapped two crew members before escaping. UPDATE 1: Further information has been received confirming that nine crew members have been kidnapped. UPDATE 2: The IMB have reported that the pirates opened fire at the bridge to gain access. The Captain and Chief Engineer were amongst the kidnapped crew. UPDATE 3: Confirmation has been received that the nine crew members have been released.
